The International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society (IFESS) invites you to submit contributions to our Annual conference which will take place in Rotterdam as part of RehabWeek 25-29th July 2022.



IFESS will be accepting scientific contributions 1- to 4-pages long, prepared according to the following template. Manuscripts must be submitted in electronic form in PDF format. Regardless of the chosen length, the contribution must include an abstract section ranging from 150 to 180 words. Adherence to template formatting style is important (i.e., capitalization of titles, position of titles, contact information, etc).

All contributions must be original and while you are welcome to submit different contributions to different RehabWeek conferences, the same work may only be submitted to one of the RehabWeek conferences.



Please submit your contribution by the deadline of February 25th 2022, 23:59 CEST. There will be no extensions.

The notification of acceptance or rejection of your contribution will be sent by March 18th, 2022.

Please note the early bird registration deadline for the conference is on April 18th,2022.



IFESS accepted contributions will be published in Artificial Organs (only online) as conference proceedings. In addition, your submissions will be made available to all RehabWeek attendees during the conference in electronic form.

We will also organize a special issue in Artificial Organs, where invited contributions will have an opportunity to be submitted as extended versions for consideration in the special issue as a peer-reviewed full journal paper. Please indicate in the submission form if you would be interested in having your submission considered for this special issue.



The Vodovnik Award will be given to the three best student papers at IFESS 2022. All student submissions participating at IFESS2022, where the undergraduate or graduate student is the first author and presents the paper is eligible for the Vodovnik award. Please indicate in the submission form if you qualify and would like to have your submission considered for the Vodovnik Award.
